Welcome to the Walking Tour of Christiana, Delaware, with a shot of one of our HISTORICAL MARKERS. We begin our tour on East Main Street at the CHRISTIANA BRIDGE.  Looking to the east, you can see the JOSIAH LEWDEN HOUSE.   Crossing over the bridge, on your right you come to the  JOHN READ HOUSE Next door is the REESE JONES HOUSE. Going up the hill to the corner of Old Baltimore Pike, you will be standing in front of the SHANNON HOTEL. Across the street is the CHRISTIANA FIRE COMPANY. Now, crossing Old Baltimore Pike, we're on West Main Street.  Proceed down the street to the METHODIST CHURCH. A little further down on the same side is the ALBERT H. JONES, JR. ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. Now, returning to Old Baltimore Pike, and heading south, we begin at the CHRISTIANA INN. Right now, you are on the OLDE KING'S ROAD. Near the end of the street is the HILLIS MANSION Going back up to and crossing Main Street onto North Old Baltimore Pike, we first see the lot formerly occupying the BALDWIN'S MARKET. Moving up the hill, on the left, we come to the JOEL LEWIS HOUSE. Next door to it is the PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH. Across from it is the lot that once had the white SCHOOLHOUSE. Up the street from the Presbyterian Church, we come across the OLD FORT CHURCH. Next, we see the former black SCHOOLHOUSE.  Finally, at the crest of the hill, we come across the MOUNT PLEASANT CHURCH Outside of the village, but very much a part of our history, we can also see the THOMAS MONTGOMERY HOUSE and the grave of JOHN OGLE.
